Guitar Chords with ChordColor

ChordColor maps all 528 chords onto the guitar fretboard using a 12-color interval system. Each fret position is colored by its relationship to the chord root -- the root is red, the major third is yellow, the perfect fifth is blue, and so on through all 12 intervals. This lets you see the harmonic DNA of any chord shape instantly, whether you are comparing a Cmaj7 barre chord to an open Amaj7 or exploring how a diminished arpeggio repeats every three frets.

Eight tunings are available: Standard EADGBE, Drop D, Open G, Open D, DADGAD, Eb Standard (half-step down), Drop C, and Drop Bb. Switching tunings recalculates every voicing algorithmically, so you can compare how the same chord is fingered across tunings without memorizing separate charts.

Voicing Explorer and Playback

Tap any chord to hear it played with sampled guitar tones, see the fingering diagram with fret numbers and finger assignments, and view the interval formula. Use the voicing arrows to cycle through root position, inversions, and alternate voicings up the neck. The fretboard scrolls to follow the active position, making it easy to learn chord shapes in context rather than in isolation.
